Stephanie Beidman is from the Vancouver/Portland area. She moved to the LCV for a fresh start about 24 years ago. She two adult children whom she is very proud of, 4 grandchildren, and is the owner of and clinician (LMSW) at New Beginnings Counseling and Support Services. Her practice provides psychotherapy, teen and adult substance use disorder outpatient treatment, ADIS Classes, and is contracted to provide therapeutic/supervised visitations. She loves what she gets to do every day, whether that means getting involved in community activities and outreach, spending time with her family and husband, being at her office serving her clients, or binging on Netflix.
This is her third year as Secretary of the board for FS4L, second year as Secretary for Washington State DOC's Local Family Council at Coyote Ridge Correction Center, and is on the board for the LCV Resilience Coalition where the mission is to educate the community on how to understand and provide positive interventions for those whose Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) scores are high. Stephanie brings a vast knowledge of working with the population we serve and is a great asset to our board of directors, peers, and community.

Her education includes a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Addiction Studies. She brings with her the knowledge of substance use disorders and understanding of mental health challenges, as well as her strong interpersonal and community outreach skills. Ms. Skalicky has also brought Mental Health First Aid to the LC Valley since 2018. She feels this has and continues to be an extremely important program that helps build mental health literacy in the community by helping the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness.
